Finding A Daycare

There's a lot of things to consider when looking for the best child care provider. Location is a big factor. How far can you travel? Do you want a child care provider that is close to your home or close to your job? What the about proximity to another guardian? Size and capacity are another issue. Do you want a small center or a big one? Do you want your child to be part of a small class or one of many children in the center? You also have to consider other amenities. Is there an outdoor area on site or will your child have to cross streets to get fresh air? Another factor to consider is longevity. Is your child going to be there full time, half days, or only certain days of the week? How long will your child be there? Will you be having another baby soon or have other children who need child care? Age range is an important factor to consider. Price also factors into your choice.

I've broken up the major considerations into five categories. The best thing to do print out this list and number each category by importance. Every child, and family, has different needs. Keep this mind when ranking each factor in your search.

Age range
Amenities
Location
Price
Size/Capacity
